Skills in working with numerical, algebraic, and trigonometric expressions are developed in preparation for MATH 021. May not be taken for credit concurrently with, or following receipt of, credit for any mathematics course numbered MATH 019 or above. If not, then I would strongly suggest that you enroll in this course. We expect that students are comfortable with the material before entering UVM?s MATH 21, 22, and 121. The material covered in this course also will come in handy in physics and many of your engineering courses. This live/online course has been designed specifically for you! I want to do everything I can to help you succeed! What is involved in the course? First of all, you need to be sure that your computer meets the hardware and software requirements. Please log on to bb.uvm.edu to access everything you will need. I also would like you to log on with me before the course begins to make sure that the system works for you. The course will run Monday through Thursday mornings from 10 AM until 12:45 PM from July 14th through August 7th. Also, if you need extra help, you and I will arrange to ?meet? live/online at a mutually convenient time. So, if you need help, all you need to do is ask! You will earn three credits for this course. So, you will earn, for most of you, your first UVM credits! Let?s go for an A+! Remember that we are in this together!
I do expect you to "attend" every session of this live/online course. I also expect you to actively participate in all in-class activities. As well, I expect you to do all of the assigned homework.
Final grade for the class is based upon: Quiz Average: 75% and Final Examination: 25%. FINAL EXAMINATION: Due to me by Thursday, August 7th. at 12:45 PM Make-up quizzes are not given. It is in your best interest to take every quiz and the final examination. If you miss any of these, you earn a 0% for it.
