About PBIO 295 Z1

This course will examine the biological aspects of both species and their environments in contributing to biological invasions. We will explore some of the leading theories and evidence on biological invasions: (1) genetic and evolutionary processes (2) population biology and life history attributes, (3) traits at the molecular, physiological and morphological and how they contribute to invasiveness, (4) properties of communities that lead to invasion and how interactions among native and invasive species affect communities and (5) effects of invasive species on ecosystem properties.
