About EDLP 295 Z1

This course (EDLP 295 Z1: Leading Multi-Disciplinary Organizations) seeks to improve leadership in schools, human service organizations, government organizations, and non-profits by exploring the benefits, challenges, and opportunities of multi-disciplinary organizations. The course introduces participants to the characteristics of multi-disciplinary organizations such as task forces, law enforcement and police organizations, child welfare agencies, and even military organizations which are increasingly called upon to deliver a myriad of services and to carry out a variety of tasks that span multiple disciplines or areas of subject matter expertise. Students will be introduced to concepts of multi-agency collaboration and problem solving, multi-disciplinary operations in complex operating environments, and analysis and planning for deploying multi-disciplinary approaches to problem solving. This course should be of interest to those concerned with complex systems, leadership, and organizational theory.
