About EDCO 291 Z4
Developmental Trauma: New Perspectives on Identification and Treatment This course will explore the 5 domains of impact of Developmental Trauma, and the therapeutic, caregiving and educational strategies to address them. The five domains : Attachment, Neuro-development, Disturbance of Arousal, Cognition and Relational will be examined in detail. We will also review 'various models for assessment and treatment including The Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics --NMT (Dr. Bruce D. Perry) and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy--DDP (Dr Dan Hughes). Student will learn how to begin developing comprehensive treatment plans to address a variety of symptoms. The entire course will run over a four week period, with pre-readings being assigned for the first week and the actual two in-class days running consecutively in the second week. Follow up coursework will be assigned and turned in within the following two weeks after the in-class portion.
