Dance Performance Workshop offers a comprehensive course of study in dance technique, improvisation, composition, history, and contemporary performance. While on campus, physical and creative practice are the heart of the course. Students will spend each morning session working with UVM Dance Faculty on a blend of techniques contemporary dance technique, as well as improvisational approaches to movement. The afternoon will focus on choreography. The class will present a public performance at the end of the session at UVM. During the online component, students will broaden their knowledge of dance through a series of readings, videos, and writings that review the history of contemporary dance and help contextualize the physical and creative work completed on campus.
