This course covers theoretical background for behavioral interventions with children, practical applications, and case studies. Through an integration of these methods, students will develop a working knowledge of best practices for working with children with behavioral challenges.

This course covers theoretical background for behavioral interventions with children, as well as practical applications. Students will acquire a working knowledge of the basic principles and methods involved in behavior modification. Using this acquired knowledge, a major focus of the course will be on practical applications of these principles to a variety of settings involving children and youth such as home, school, and community/extracurricular activities. Students will develop knowledge of best practices for working with families of children with behavioral challenges across a wide variety of settings. This course is applicable to students and professionals from a range of disciplines (e.g., psychology, education, social work, nursing, pediatrics) seeking to augment their ability to develop, implement, and monitor programs for behavior change relevant to children and their families.
