CALS 85: Computer Applications/Information and Communication Technology is a hybrid course. The in-class lectures occur on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 PM to 6:15 PM. The online labs are offered on Blackboard. There is no textbook, and all lecture and lab materials are provided for free and online through Blackboard. The course covers topics that include the following: computer hardware; system and application software; internet and World Wide Web; electronic communication; data collection, management and presentation; formatting of academic work; and concepts related to success in academia.
