Dear Students, We will be using an excellent textbook called "Imaginez" for both FREN 051 and 052. I am very excited about teaching the course with this book as it has many resources to support and enhance learning. I will be receiving the book shortly and will design the course once I have it and post a syllabus for you as soon as possible. I. COURSE DESCRIPTION/OBJECTIVES Welcome to French 051. This course consists of an in-depth revision of the grammar you learned in French I and II. Essentially, we will be reviewing and, most importantly applying the language through conversation and written expression. You will improve on text comprehension and oral and written expression through short stories/excerpts, and video clips that focus on francophone culture. As new grammar, you will learn the plus-que-parfait tense and an introduction to the passe simple tense. The course should be interesting and fun as we will be sharing (in French) our perceptions and opinions of a variety of readings and video through written and oral expression.

Evaluations will consist of short writing pieces, homework, and a final exam. Since the semester is so short, there will be no mid-term exam. PLEASE NOTE THAT A FULL SYLLABUS WILL BE UP IN THE NEAR FUTURE
