About PBIO 195 Z1
This course will focus on the botany, chemical makeup, pharmacology, and the medicinal uses of selected medicinal plants organized by disease state and/or body system. It will explore research evidence supporting the therapeutic uses and potential adverse effects of these herbs. There will also be a review of the legal-regulatory status of medicinal plants in the U.S. as dietary supplements. The course will include several short field trips. This course also includes hands-on compounding laboratory.
