Basic statistical concepts, methods, and applications, including correlation, regression, confidence intervals, and hypothesis tests. Prerequisites: Two years of high school algebra; Sophomore standing.

This course will prepare you to use statistics within and outside of your field. Concepts presented in this course will be useful to critical thinkers in an increasingly data-focused society, and the techniques covered will provide a foundation for understanding real-world research. From the catalog: Basic overview and data classification, Descriptive statistics, Study design and data collection, Probability and distributions, Confidence Intervals, Hypothesis Testing, Correlation and regression
As a 6 week online course then material will need to be mastered quickly. Students should expect to work 8-10 hours per week on class material. Students will also be required to access and participate on the course Blackboard page throughout each week. There will be live, on-line office hours.
Grades will be determined through HW, discussion board participation, online "class activities". There will be a proctored Midterm and Final Exams. Proctored exams can be taken on campus at a the designated time or through ProctorU, an online proctoring service.
