Second Annual UVM Staff Art Exhibit
- By Staff Council
On Tuesday, September 11, the University of Vermont Staff Council and the Davis Center Art Team held the Second Annual UVM Staff Art Exhibit Artist Reception in the Davis Center, Livak Fireplace Lounge. Over 100 guests attended to see the many artistic and creative talents of over 20 UVM staff artists as part of the official Staff Appreciation Week events.
The collection of art this year exceeded 40 pieces of exquisite and inspired work from photography and sculpture to oil painting and mixed media pieces. “This has been a great follow up to our first Art Exhibit in 2011,” stated Jeff Bukowski, Staff Council Administrator, “We have so many talented staff here at UVM and this Exhibit is just one way to showcase that to the rest of the University.”
Light refreshments, including local Vermont cheeses, were served to the tune of live music presented by fellow staff member Tristan Henderson.
If you were unable to make it to the Second Annual UVM Staff Art Exhibit, you can see photos of the art and the Reception on the Staff Council’s Flickr Account here.
A special thanks to the Davis Center Art Team Student Curator Blair Borax for all her work to make this exhibit and reception happen. In addition we would like to thank Staff Council Intern Eric Stadlin, the Staff Appreciation Week Planning Committee, the Davis Center, and Staff Council for all their help and support for this event.
Plans are already underway for the Third Annual UVM Staff Art Exhibit to be held during Staff Appreciation Week in September 2013. Stay tuned for more information in spring to find out how you can sign up to participate in this event.
