Happenings

The Student Employment Office will be offering financial literacy workshops to summer students about financial fundamentals, educational planning, budgeting, student loans and repayment and credit and Debt management. The SEO work with the nonprofit SALT a money coach that incents students and alumni to be financially savvy. Come to our workshops and also learn about SALT the game-changing new membership program that helps students and families navigate financing a higher education, successfully manage any resulting debt, and build money skills for life. The Student Employment Office empowers students to take control of their money and make smart financial decisions by providing experiences that are simple, useful, and motivating.

  • Why working during college is important?

    There are many benefits to working during your college years. Many students work for added financial support during their time at college. Working throughout higher education can be useful for things other than fiscal support. Having a job in college helps one develop a skillset for future employment. The experience and training looks great on a resume and can often give one a leg-up on the competition in the job market. There are many opportunities during student employment for networking. Leaving college with contacts and references can be invaluable. Sometimes these networks can result in employment after college is finished. There are countless benefits to working throughout college, all of which can help you get ahead.
