Becoming a Student Employee Supervisor

Read an email from the Student Employment Office granting access to the Job Board

check boxAgree to the Supervisor Agreement

check boxPost a Job

In the Job Board:

  • Post a job using the "My Student Employment Jobs" tab or Hot Key "j".
  • Follow the on screen form.
  • Identify if your job is for 0997 - UVM Federal Work Study or 0998 - UVM Student Employee.
  • Submit your job for approval to the Student Employment Office.
  • As soon as your job is approved, you will receive a system generated email.

Steps to Hire a Student Employee

Log into the Students Work Job Board to post a position and hire student employees.

To access the Job Board:

check boxAgree to the Supervisor Agreement

check boxFind a student employee!

On the Job Board:

  • Search for jobs using the "Job Search" tab.
  • Search for departments using the "Employer Directory".
  • To apply for the job, look for the "How to Apply" field in the job posting and follow the instructions provided.

check boxRequest a Student Employee hire!

As the hiring supervisor, it is your responsibility to request the hire of a student employee from within the Job Board. Once you are request a student employee:

  • The Student Employment Office will review your request for approval. To verify your hire has been approved, select the "View My Activity" link in the Students Work Job Board.
  • Watch for your confirmation e-mail from the Student Employment Office confirming your hire request has been approved. Until you receive this e-mail, your student employee is not an official hire.
  • SAVE the CONFIRMATION E-MAIL.

check boxI-9/Eligibility to Work in the U.S.

If the student employee's I-9 status is listed as "N", the student employee will be required to complete I-9 paperwork with UVM Human Resource Services or an approved Department. Review the paperwork details provided in the confirmation e-mail.
