Scholarships for Prospective First-Time Undergraduate Students
Prospective, first-time, undergraduate students are considered automatically, without a separate application, for several UVM merit scholarships. Consideration for these scholarships is based on the application for admission. Additionally, there are a few scholarships that require separate applications for consideration. Click on your residency below to view details about scholarships for which you will be automatically considered upon application and those for which you may apply.

Notification Timeline: For scholarships that do not require a separate application, students are considered based on the admissions application. Scholarship notifications are mailed beginning in late December, after an offer of admission has been made. For scholarships requiring an application, students must apply by the application deadline and will be notified as listed in the scholarship information.
Please note: Some UVM scholarships look at financial need in determination of the scholarship eligibility and amount. Therefore, it is a good idea for students to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
