2008-2009 Terms and Conditions
The Next Generation Scholarship is an academic merit scholarship awarded to many of Vermont’s strongest students enrolling at the University of Vermont who demonstrate a financial need. The scholarship fund was established by funding made possible by the Next Generation Initiative for students entering the University in the Fall 2008. This scholarship offer is only valid at the University of Vermont, and is non-transferable to other institutions.
Renewal Eligibility
This scholarship is a revocable award from the University. In order to retain your scholarship, you must remain a full-time student (defined as enrolling in a minimum of twelve credits per semester), maintain satisfactory academic progress (as defined by Student Financial Services) toward completion of your degree and continue to demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA.
Length of Scholarship
This scholarship is renewable for the three subsequent years (a total of eight semesters).
Relationship to Need-Based Financial Aid
This award is based on academic merit and financial need. You will receive more information on your total financial aid package directly from the Student Financial Services Office. Your scholarship will be calculated into your overall aid package.
Study Abroad & Summer Session
This scholarship may not be used to attend summer session classes. However, you may use your scholarship to study abroad for up to two consecutive semesters in a UVM sponsored program.
Leave of Absence
You may take an approved Leave of Absence from the University for up to two consecutive semesters and retian your scholarship. Your scholarship will not be reinstated if you choose to withdraw, cancel enrollment, become inactive, or are dismissed from the University.
