Next Generation Scholarship ($1,000 or $3,000)
2007-2008 Terms and Conditions
The Next Generation Scholarship is an academic merit scholarship awarded to many of Vermont’s strongest students enrolling at the University of Vermont. The scholarship fund was established by funding made possible by the Next Generation Initiative for students entering the University in the Fall 2007. This scholarship offer is only valid at the University of Vermont, and is non-transferable to other institutions.
Renewal Eligibility
In order to retain your scholarship, you must maintain satisfactory academic progress toward completion of your degree.
Length of Scholarship
This scholarship is renewable for the three subsequent years (a total of eight semesters).
Relationship to Need-Based Financial Aid
If you apply/have applied for need-based financial aid at the University, your Next Generation Scholarship will be calculated into your overall aid package. You will receive more information on your total financial aid package directly from the office of Student Financial Services.
Study Abroad, Summer Session and Your Scholarship
The Next Generation Scholarship may not be used to attend summer session classes. However, you may use your scholarship to study abroad for up to two semesters in a UVM sponsored program.
Leave of Absence
If you choose to take an approved Leave of Absence from the University, your Next Generation Scholarship may be reinstated provided you return to UVM after no more than two consecutive semesters. Leaving the University under any other circumstances (with the exception of study abroad) will result in the loss of your scholarship.
