Arts of VT O.N.Eder Dome Celebration!
Please join us at the VSA
Arts of
VT O.N.Eder Dome Celebration on Saturday, April 10th, from
2-4pm as we come together to celebrate the installation of a
beautiful
stained glass and
steel O.N.E.der Dome designed to invite new and
creative uses of the Hyde Street triangle park in
Burlington! The triangle park is located at the intersection of
Hyde, School, and North Streets. There
will be performances by community members, local kids, and UVM students
and free food from American Flatbread, Nunyuns,
O.N.E
Grille, and coffee from Viva Espresso. All are welcome!!
Note: Rain date will
be Sunday, April 11th,
from 2-4pm.

Burlington Code Enforcement Refresher
1. COUCHES
Keeping upholstered furniture on porches is
prohibited
-
Furniture not constructed for outdoor use
(stuffed coaches,
chairs, etc...) may not be stored or kept on porches or in plain view
in the front yard of any property. It is a huge fire hazard and you can
receive up to
$500
fine!
2. GRILLS & HIBACHIS
The use of grills and BBQ's on porches is
prohibited
3. TRASH
Furniture on the greenbelt and front yard trash
are prohibited (*Greenbelts are the grassy area
located between the sidewalk and road.)
4. CARS
Parking on a lawns, yards, walkways, greenbelts,
right-of-ways, or other grassy areas is
prohibited

Preservation of green areas like lawns and
greenbelts helps to beautify our neighborhoods, muffle noise, clean the
air, slow down storm water, provide a healthy environment and keep Lake
Champlain clean.
Burlington's
Enforcement Office conducts regular patrols and
violations are subject to tickets, fines, and towing. Please call

Sharing the Road Safely
In light of the recent car/pedestrian accident on
Main St. involving a  UVM student, we wanted to remind
the University community
about steps we can all take to make Burlington streets safer for
pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists alike. Please follow this

Safe Street Collaborative brochure for great safety tips and a
quick refresher on the rules of the road.
The Safe Street Collaborative also has a
$6 safety
gear coupon that can be used to purchase reflective gear, lights,
helmets, and other safety related items. Also see info about the Safe Streets Summit happening this Saturday, April
10, from 10am-12pm, under Upcoming Events.

New
Student CSA Program in the Intervale!
Are you interested in receiving fresh, local
veggies every week? Do you want to support local agriculture? Have you
ever considered joining a CSA?
 The
Intervale Center’s Food Hub CSA
is piloting a student share that
will be offered the fall semester of 2010 to off-campus and grad
students. This share will start the week of September 6th and end the
week of December 6th. Students need to sign-up
online before May 31st
in order to
receive their share at the onset of the 2010 fall semester.
We are offering two different share choices to
students this fall. The Basic Student Share costs a total of $225, an
average of $17 per week, and
will showcase the diverse Vermont harvest, offering a range of 7-10
vegetables along with a few delicious melons, apples and cider.
The share will easily feed one or two veggie-friendly students.
The Deluxe Student Share will cost a total of
$300, an average of $23
per week. This plan is identical to the Basic Student Share but
includes 1 dozen eggs from Jericho Settlers Farm’s pastured chickens
every other week. In addition, you will receive 1 half-liter of
maple syrup
from Dragonfly Sugarworks, 1 quart of sauerkraut from Arethusa Farm,
and 1 six ounce tub of pesto from Bella Farm, each delivered once
during the course
of your share.

Need furniture for your off-campus home? We have a deal for
you! You can pick up the following items for FREE on the
Trinity
campus on May 15th from
1- 3:30pm and on May 29th.from 10am - 3pm:

Wardrobes (5-6 people are needed to carry
these items out)

order to have these brought to the Trinity

Student Parks Pass!
Save on the daily parking fee of $5 at North
Beach, Oakledge Park, Leddy
Park, and Perkins Pier by buying a summer season–long pass for just
$25!
This is a new discounted rate just for college students to encourage
more use of the parks (regular rates $40 Burl. Residents and $60 for  non-residents).
Burlington Parks & Recreation Department Season Park Pass allows
unlimited parking admission to all Burlington Parks except for
Waterfront Park. If you attend school
in
Burlington and stay for the summer you are eligible for
this discounted parking pass. All you need to show is your valid school
ID and a proof of Burlington residency, such as your auto registration,
a utility bill, lease agreement, or other piece of processed mail.

Need
a UVM
Subletter or Sublet? Connect With Each
Other For FREE!!
Here are the Steps:
1. Go to http://offcampushousing.uvm.edu,
click on the
"register here" link, and create a username and password (not your UVM
Net ID/password).
2. If you want to post a FREE sublet Ad make sure to answer "yes" to
the first question: "Do you want to add a listing to the database?"on
the registration page
3. To post your ad click the "add/edit listings" option on the top bar
fill in your info and post it.
Before you sublet always get permission from your
landlord! If you don't you may be in violation of your lease
agreement. It is also a good idea to fill out a written Sublease
Agreement with your subletter and to take a security
deposit which can be held in case of damage to the apartment. When
subletting you are
still responsible to your landlord for the original lease and you also
can be held responsible for any problems created by the new tenant.
Make sure to inform your subletter about lease obligations and city
ordinances
regarding noise, alcohol, trash, parking, etc. A problematic
subletter can damage neighbor relationships and make your efforts to be
a good neighbor more difficult.
