Socially Responsible Investing Advisory Council
SRI Advisory Council Process
The Socially Responsible Investing Advisory Council (the Council) will gather information on issues that are of concern to the University community during two open Town Hall Forums. One to be held each semester in October and February. Interested parties will get three minutes to present their issue followed up by a two minute question period. Presenters should be prepared to provide the following:
- Their name
- Affiliation to the University
- The group they represent (if any)
- Their issue
- How it is connected to the ethical, moral, and socially responsible aspects of Our Common Ground
- The action that they are requesting
- The outcome they are looking for
The Council will then review the presented issues and determine which of those issues to pursue. After further research, the Council will make recommendations to the Vice President of Finance and Administration primarily around proxy voting and shareholder initiatives. Any action taken on the Council's recommendations are at the discretion of the Investment Subcommittee of the Board of Trustees.
