America East Release | Video Highlights
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – University of Vermont freshman midfielder Jess Herbst (Webster, N.Y.) was named to the America East Women's Soccer All-Rookie Team. The league made the announcement on Wednesday.
Herbst started all 16 games she played in this season for the
Catamounts. She made her collegiate debut in UVM's season opener versus
Central Connecticut and picked up her first career points as a Catamount
with two goals in Vermont's 6-5 victory at UMBC. She earned America East
Rookie of the Week honors for her effort in the win over the
Retrievers.
Herbst finished the season with five points (2 goals, 1 assist), ranking
third on the team in scoring.
Vermont posted a record of 1-13-3 overall and went 1-5-2 in America East in
2009.
The America East playoffs begin Thursday (Oct. 29) and run through November
7 or 8.
NOTES: The 2009 season marks the fifth straight year a Catamount has
been named to the conference’s all-rookie team.
