Women's Soccer Wraps Up the Regular Season with Busy Week

VERMONT WOMEN'S SOCCER WEEKLY NOTEBOOK
Vermont wraps up the regular season with three games this week. The Catamounts travel down I-89 to take on Dartmouth on Tuesday (Oct. 20) at 6 p.m. in a non-conference match. UVM returns to conference play Thursday (Oct. 22) at Binghamton and is at Hartford on Sunday (Oct. 25) to close out the regular season.

Vermont suffered a 3-0 loss at the hands of New Hampshire on Thursday.

PLAYOFF PICTURE | America East Standings
Vermont, 1-3-2 in America East, enters the week fighting for a spot in the America East playoffs. Wins over Binghamton and Hartford could propel UVM into the postseason. The Catamounts will also need some help, New Hampshire holds the sixth spot in the standings at the start of the week.

The top six teams in the final regular standings advance to the America East Women's Soccer Tournament. The top two seeds earn a bye and all games are played at the highest seed. The first round begins on October 29, the semifinals are November 1 and the championship game will be played either November 7 or 8.

The Catamounts are looking to return to the America East Tournament for the first time since 2006.

The Big Green stand at 6-6 overall and are 2-2 in the Ivy League. Dartmouth is coming off a 5-1 loss at Penn on Sunday, the team had won three of four heading into the match against the Quakers. Dartmouth is 3-1 at home this season and Aly O'Day leads the team in scoring with 11 points on five goals and one assist. Colleen Hogan is the team's top goalkeeper, owning a 1.41 goals against average and .692 save percentage this season.

The Bearcats begin the week with a record of 7-6-1 and are 4-2 in America East. Binghamton blanked UMBC, 2-0 on Sunday to clinch a spot in the league playoffs and has won seven of the last 10 games, including three straight league games. Jamie Holliday leads the team in scoring with eight pints (3-2—8). Teammate Emily Pape also has a team-high three goals, including two game winners on the year. Jen McEachron and Erin Iman have split time in the Binghamton net. McEachron owns a 0.86 goals against average and .838 save percentage.

The Hawks are searching for their first league win of the year and stand at 4-10-2 overall and 0-5-1 in America East. Hartford has lost five straight, including a 1-0 decision to Boston University on Sunday. Alex Uscilla leads the team in scoring with 10 points (4-2—10). Mary Beth Hamilton has a team-high four assists and eight points on the season to rank second on the team in scoring. Lauren Brodeur is the team's top goalkeeper with a 1.36 goals against average and a .790 save percentage.
