BURLINGTON, Vt. - Freshman Kellin Haley (Oceanside, Calif.) of the softball team and sophomore Corey Moylan (Glenview, Ill.) of the baseball team were named the UVM/Sheraton Hotel Student-Athletes of the Week for the period ending May 3.

Haley had a big game in leading the Catamounts to an 8-4 come from behind victory over Maine in the second contest of a doubleheader on Saturday. The freshman went 2-for-4 with four runs batted in, including hitting a triple with the bases loaded and the score tied at 4-4 in the fourth inning. Haley platted her first run of the day with a single to left-center in the bottom of the first.

Haley’s four RBI were one more than she had on the season entering the game. She finished the year second on the team in batting average and third in runs scored (9), hits (29) and doubles (6). Haley also led the team in stolen bases as she swiped 10 in 11 attempts on the season. The Catamounts finished the year 8-38 overall and 4-17 in America East play.

Moylan hit .391 in six games last week scoring eight runs and driving in eight more. Eight of his nine hits went for extra bases including seven of Vermont's 24 doubles in the six games. He hit .417 (5-for-12) with four walks and a .917 slugging percentage in the four-game series with Hartford connecting on his third homer of the season in Sunday's 14-5 victory in the second game of a doubleheader.

After a slow start this season, Moylan has hit .351 in conference games to raise his overall batting average to .269. In all games he also has 10 doubles and has driven in 18 runs after having 8 RBI in limited action as a freshman.

Vermont (15-28, 7-9 America East) hosts UMBC in doubleheaders Saturday and Sunday at Centennial Field with both starting at 1 p.m. Admission is free to all regular season home games.
