BURLINGTON, Vt. - Vermont senior T.J. Gore (Macomb, Mich.) is a nominee for the 2009 America East Men’s Soccer Fans’ Choice Award. Voting for the award is now underway and will end on Nov. 2 at noon. The award winner will be announced on AmericaEast.com on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

Gore has been one of the most consistent players for Vermont in his four years at UVM. He has played 73 career games, including starting all 15 this year. He currently leads the team with four assists this season from his midfield position. His four points are good for fourth on the team.

Gore has earned all-conference honors each of his first three seasons with the Catamounts. As a freshman Gore enjoyed arguably his best individual season as a Catamount. He recorded four goals and four assists and was named to the America East All-Conference First Team and All-Rookie Team as well as earning a spot on the NSCAA All-Northeast Region Third Team. Gore avoided the dreaded sophomore slump by notching three goals and an assist while providing great play for the America East Champions and was named to the America East All-Conference Second Team. In 2008 Gore earned his second-consecutive All-Conference Second Team nomination after he scored three goals and three assists.

Vermont (1-9-5, 1-4-2 America East) finishes its regular season on Wednesday when it hosts Boston U. at Centennial Field at 2 p.m. The winner of the game will secure the final spot in the America East Tournament.
