BURLINGTON, Vt. – University of Vermont graduate Andrew Kelleher ‘09 has been named an assistant men’s lacrosse coach at Hamilton College. Hamilton head coach Scott Barnard made the announcement today. Kelleher recorded 65 goals and 20 assists for 85 points over the last four years with the Catamounts and was named the 2009 America East Fans’ Choice Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Year.
Kelleher notched 36 goals and 45 points this past season for Vermont. His 2.50 goals per game average ranked 11th best in the country. The Delmar, N.Y., native ranked second on the team in ground balls (36) and shots (84).
Kelleher also was a named New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Scholar-Athlete in 2009. The award is given to seniors who excel on the field and boast a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better. He also made the America East Academic Honor Roll in 2008.
Kelleher has previous coaching experience serving as a volunteer assistant coach for the Burlington High School boys' lacrosse team this past year.
