Catamounts Take On WAC Power In Reno On Bracket Buster Saturday at
2:00pm (EST)
BURLINGTON, Vt. – The Vermont at Nevada men’s basketball game
on February 19th will be televised nationally on ESPN2. The game, part of
ESPN’s "Bracket Buster Saturday", will tip off at 2:00pm Eastern time
(11:00am Pacific). The ESPN television networks made the announcement
today.
The game between the Catamounts (17-3, 12-0 America East) and the Wolf Pack (15-5, 9-2 Western Athletic Conference) at the Lawlor Events Center in Reno is one of the 11 televised games on Bracket Buster Saturday. The game also is the first nationally televised regular season contest for Vermont. UVM has made three appearances on ESPN playing in the conference championship game and twice on CBS in the NCAA tournament.
“America East Conference is pleased to have Vermont selected to participate in one of the Bracket Buster Saturday televised games,” said Chris Monasch, Commissioner of America East.
“Head coach Tom Brennan and his players have created a tremendous amount of excitement for the Catamounts throughout the state of Vermont and the Northeast. ESPN and Bracket Buster Saturday afford fans around the country the chance to see one of the nation’s quality mid-major programs and to enjoy an outstanding day of college basketball.”
Vermont, the two-time defending America East champions, is the first school from the conference selected for the third annual event. The other televised match-ups announced by ESPN are (all times eastern): UTEP at Pacific (ESPN, midnight), Wichita State at Miami (Ohio) (ESPN2, noon), Southern Illinois at Kent State (ESPN2, 6:00pm), Western Michigan at Northern Iowa (ESPN2, 4:00pm), UW-Milwaukee at Hawaii (ESPN2, 8:00pm), Buffalo at Fresno State (ESPN Regional, 7:00pm), Drexel at Ball State (ESPN Regional, 5:00pm), Illinois State at UW-Green Bay (ESPN Regional, 9:00pm), Murray State at Rice (ESPN Regional, 5:00pm), and Arkansas-Little Rock at Bowling Green (ESPN Regional, 5:00pm).
