BURLINGTON, Vt.- The annual Catamount Tip-Off featuring the University of Vermont men's and women's basketball teams will be held at 4:00pm on Saturday, October 20 at Patrick Gymnasium. Tickets for the event are $5.00 and go on sale Monday. UVM students get in free with a valid school ID and children under the age of 10 are also admitted free. All proceeds benefit the Vermont Cancer Center in support of breast cancer awareness month.

Both the women's and men's teams will take part in an intersquad scrimmage, they will also compete in a co-ed scrimmage, followed by a three-point competition. The men will also have a dunk contest with members of the women's team serving as judges.

Many great giveaways and raffle prizes are planned throughout the event. The first 500 fans through the door will receive a t-shirt courtesy of Hilco, a free small fry coupon from McDonald's and a Green Mountain Coffee Roaster product. The first 200 fans will receive a buy one-get-one free Big Daddy Breakfast from Handy's Lunch.

Raffle prizes include four seats to the men's and women's basketball home openers, a $50 gift card to Junior's, a Smuggler's Notch Season Pass and a round trip ticket to anywhere the Jet Blue flies.

Following the end of the event there will be fan fest held in the multi-purpose facility adjacent to Patrick Gym where the raffle prizes will be announced. There will be live music from Greyspoke, free Nectars Gravy Fries, free Coca Cola products, and free popcorn from University Dining Sodexho and Leonardo's pizza.
