COLCHESTER, Vt. – The University of Vermont men's and women's cross country teams swept the Saint Michael's Invitational on Friday afternoon. Senior Aly Millett (Half Moon Bay, Calif.) won the women's race with a time of 18:10 and junior Ben Talbot (Scarborough, Maine) took home first place in the men's race with a time of 26:32.

The Catamounts took nine of the top 10 spots in the women's race. Millett battled with teammate Morgan Powers (Cincinnati, Ohio) the entire race. Millett was able to catch Powers down the final stretch to take home first place. Power finished one second behind her teammate with a time of 18:11. Freshman Julie McGilpin (Westfield, Mass.) placed third overall with a time of 19:15.

Vermont runners took the first five places and nine out of 10 overall in the men's competition. Talbot led the way and was followed by freshmen Andy Stillman (Norfolk, Mass.) and Ethan McBrien (Dublin, N.H.). Stillman posted a time of 26:46, while McBrien covered the course in a time of 26:59.

Vermont will have a week off to prepare for the America East Cross Country Championships, which the Catamounts will host at Catamount Family Center in Williston, Vt. on October 31.
