Rankings
BURLINGTON, Vt. – The University of Vermont women's cross country team is ranked 13th in the latest regional poll released by U.S Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for the second straight week and third time this season.
The Catamounts are one of four America East schools in the top-15 in the Northeast region. The women's team was ranked 15th in the preseason poll.
Last week, the Catamounts placed eighth out of 49 teams at the New England Championships at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass. Freshman Debbie Isen (Bethesda, Md.) and sophomore Morgan Powers (Cincinnati, Ohio) put together two of the best performances by UVM runners since 2002. Isen finished 10th overall with a time of 18:18 and Powers placed 12th with a time of 18:19. Both Catamounts earned All-New England honors, marking the first time since 2000 that two UVM runners earned the accolades.
UVM returns to action on Friday (Oct. 16) when it travels to nearby Saint Michael's College for races that begin at 3 p.m.
The Catamounts will host the America East Cross Country Championship on October 31 at Catamount Family Center in Williston, Vt.
