Final Score: Vermont 2, Bradley 1

BRADENTON, Fla. – Senior Jeff Dixon (Brattleboro, Vt.) tossed a three-hitter to lead Vermont past Bradley 2-1 in the Catamounts southern trip to Florida. The Catamounts scored two runs in the top of the sixth and held on for the win. Vermont improved to 3-1 on the season with the victory.

Dixon pitched a complete game (7 innings) and the lone run allowed was unearned. He struck out three batters posted 1-2-3 innings on four different occasions and allowed just one runner past second base in another solid performance on the mound.

At the plate, senior Jeff Barry (Essex Junction, Vt.) and junior Ray Montanez (Brooklyn, N.Y.) recorded two hit each to lead the Catamounts.

The Catamounts return to action on Thursday when they face Eastern Kentucky at 10:00am in Bradenton, Flordia.
