against each other. The two teams first began play in the 2002-03 season
with Dartmouth winning the two games by a margin of 15-0.
GAME-WINNER
Sophomore Kailey Nash (Middletown, R.I.) has notched three game-winning
goals in Vermont’s first 10 games. She is one game-winning goal shy of
tying the all-time record of four set by Torrey Dennis in the 1999-00
season.
Nash is tied for third in the nation with her three game-winning goals.
USING THE ADVANTAGE
The Catamounts have excelled on special teams this year. Vermont set a
school-record with 22 consecutive penalty kills, which was snapped against
Boston U on Nov. 11. However, when UVM is on the power play usually finds
the back of the net.
Kailey Nash is tied for the lead in the nation with seven power-play goals. Freshman Emily Walsh (Suffield, Conn.) is tied for 11th in the nation with three power-play goals this season.
IN THE BOX
Vermont is one of the most penalized teams in the nation as they average
13.4 penalty minutes per game, which is the fifth most in the nation. UVM
has recorded 174 minutes in its first 13 games. The Catamounts have stood
strong on the penalty kill however though turning away 80 percent of the
power plays they face.
