BURLINGTON, Vt. – The University of Vermont launched today the website www.PickVik.com. The site is dedicated to the accomplishments of junior forward Viktor Stålberg (Gothenburg, Sweden) of the Vermont men’s hockey team, who is a candidate for the 2009 Hobey Baker Award that is given annually to the top college hockey player in the nation.
Stålberg is one of the top men's hockey student-athletes in the country, and is among the national and Hockey East leaders in goals and points, while boasting an impressive 3.6 grade-point average in business administration at the University of Vermont. Stålberg has helped lead the Catamounts to a 17-7-4 record and a No. 6 national ranking this season while playing the country's toughest schedule.
Stålberg enters this weekend ranked second in the nation in goals with 20 and he has a team leading 34 points on the season. Through 21 Hockey East contests, he leads the conference in goals (17) and is second in points (28).
