With a strong focus on social justice and human rights, we prepare students for transformative social work practice with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities. Through our teaching, scholarship and public service, we strive to advance social work knowledge and practice that contributes to a more just world order.

Students gain experience through opportunities to engage in wide range of roles and settings, such as schools, healthcare, mental health centers, government agencies, and community-based organizations. Our graduates become professionals whose practice reflects the most humane and empowering knowledge, skills, and values of social work.

Our Child Welfare Training Partnership (CWTP) facilitates the professional development of caregivers and the Family Services workforce to meet the complex needs of Vermont’s children, youth and families.
