WE welcome students who are interested in understanding and working with people and communities based on people's strengths and guided by principles of human rights and social justice. Our rigorous program prepares students for professional social work practice in a variety of settings. This is a hand-on learning experience which requires extensive self-reflection, processing, and engagement. Moreover, because we are a small group of social work educators, students and faculty work together closely to further understand the complexities of the profession and strategize ways to address and express our commitment to making a difference on local, national and global levels. We enjoy the opportunity to enrich our learning environment by partnering with students while their professional selves emerge.
- Julie Richards, Undergraduate Program Coordinator
"The Bachelor of Science Program at UVM has given me the opportunity to form strong relationships with other social work students as well as faculty. It has provided me with the opportunity to grow as a leader. The undergraduate program continually supports me in developing the skills, values, and knowledge that will enable me to go out in the worlds and make a difference in the lives of others."
