June Orientation Program

For the most detailed information about the June Orientation program, please refer to the Checkpoints brochure from last year, which will give you an idea of what to expect for this year. The 2009 version will be available late March..

Orientation Registration will open in April, and you will be able to make your reservation here.

Below is a general overview of both the student and the family schedule during Orientation. Orientation begins on the first day at 10:30am and ends by 3 pm on the second day. If you are making travel plans, please plan accordingly.

 

 Program at a glance: Students
Day One
8am - 10am Check-in at the Wing/Davis/Wilks Residential Complex.
Here, you will receive your program materials and room keys.
All students spend the night in Wing/Davis/Wilks.
10:30am Orientation Begins

Morning Sessions:
*University Welcome
*Academic Unit Meeting

Lunch with your OL and Academic Unit Meeting

Afternoon Sessions (times vary):
*Welcome Meeting with Orientation Leaders & other students assigned to your residence hall floor
*Residential Life and Dining Service information sessions
*Campus Life & Academic information sessions

5-6pm Dinner
After Dinner *Campus community & involvement session
*Evening social activities
Day Two
  Breakfast
Academic advising meeting
Course registration on the World Wide Web (by appointment)
Lunch & resource fair
Housing & Meal Plan selection
Check-out by 3 p.m.

10:30am Orientation begins

Afternoon Sessions (times vary):
*Residential Life and Dining Service information sessions
*Campus Life & Academic information sessions
*Life at UVM from the student perspective

 

5-6pm Dinner
After Dinner *Presentation on parenting from a distance
*Parent social hour
Day Two
  Breakfast
Information Sessions:
*Fall Move-in Information, including computers, lofts, and logistics.
*Dean of Students
*Financial aid and student accounts
Lunch and resource fair
Check-out by 3pm
