TREK: Financial AidTREK Financial Aid Applications are due by July 2, 2013
We offer two types of financial aid: identity-based scholarships and fee reductions. Our ultimate goal is to work with ALL interested first-year students to make participation in TREK a reality!
As an extension of our commitment to diversity and inclusion, TREK offers Identity-Based Scholarships to students from under-represented incoming student populations. As an initial gathering and celebration of community among our newest memebers, we believe cultural pluralism and social diversity are integral to the TREK mission. Students in the following categories are eligible for the Identity-Based Scholarships: first-generation college students (first in their families to attend college); Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender or Questioning (LGBTQ) students; and incoming students with disabilities.
To be considered for an Identity-Based Scholarship: with your standard registration materials, please include a written statement of interest in the program you have chosen outlining how you plan to contribute to the TREK experience and your new community at UVM. This statement is due by July 2, 2013; award notification will be sent to applicants by July 19, 2013.
A limited amount of financial aid in the form of reduced program fees is available for those in need of financial assistance in order to participate. Please write a short statement describing: 1) your interest in participating in TREK, and 2) an indication of your financial need. This statement needs to accompany your registration form along with a 50% deposit of your first-choice TREK program. For best consideration, applications are due on July 2, 2013. Award notification will be sent to you by July 19, 2013.
