CIT Web Redesign Project

Project Description

The CIT Web Redesign Project aims to make the CIT website more useful.

Statement of the Problem to be Solved

There are a number of issues surrounding the CIT web site:

  • much of the information in the site is outdated
  • many of the links are broken
  • a lot of information that folks need to find is not there
  • a lot of information that folks need is on the UVM web but not "in" the CIT web

A number of issues are being addressed

  • cataloging the information that is there but not linked
  • organizing the information so that a google search of the site finds it
  • streamlining the navigation
  • finding better content management tools

All costs are indirect.

Costs (on-going)

Once the site is redesigned, then maintining it become the key issue. This will require constant vigilance on the part of CIT management.

Benefits

Two main benefits

  • members of the general university will have a more usable site
  • in particular, the CIT client support staff will have a better repository for expertise.
