  E-mail is sometimes nice for a discussion group; but it might get lost in with other student mail.

• A newsgroup

  A newsgroup is nicer, since the news is always "in the same place", doesn't get eaten by pets, and is otherwise hard to lose.

• Websites: e.g. The World Lecture Hall

  This page at the University of Texas contains links to pages created by faculty worldwide who are using the Web to deliver class materials. For example, you will find course syllabi, assignments, lecture notes, exams, class calendars, multimedia textbooks, etc.
