Spaghetti Pie

Vegetable spray
2 quarts water
8 oz spaghetti
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon salad oil
1 egg, beaten
1/3 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon butter or margarine, softened
1 cup cottage cheese
1/2 lb lean ground meat or poultry
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1 cup prepared spaghetti sauce
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Preheat electric oven to 3500F. Spray a 9-inch pie plate with vegetable
spray. In a large saucepot, bring the water to a boil. Add the spaghetti,
salt, and oil. Stirring occasionally, cook for 8 to 10 minutes; drain and
rinse with cold water. In a large bowl, combine egg, Parmesan cheese, and
butter. Add spaghetti and toss until evenly mixed. Put spaghetti into
prepared pie plate and mold to the shape of the plate. Spread cottage cheese
over spaghetti in the bottom of the pie plate. In a skillet, brown ground
meat or poultry. Add onion and green pepper; cook for a few minutes. Add
spaghetti sauce and mix well. Spoon meat mixture over cottage cheese. Bake
for 30 to 35 minutes. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and let cool 10
minutes before serving. Makes 6 servings.
