              Pork Pork Chops

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
                      Vegetable cooking spray
4 4-ounce lean, boned center-cut loin pork chops -- (1/4 inch
thick)
1 cup chopped onion
   2/3 cup water
1 teaspoon chicken-flavored bouillon granules
   1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
   1/4 teaspoon pepper
3 medium Rome apples -- peeled and sliced

Coat a large nonstick skillet with cooking spray; place over medium-high
heat until hot. Add pork chops and onion. Cook chops 6 minutes on each side
or until browned.
Combine water, bouillon granules, cinnamon, and pepper; stir well. Add
to pork mixture, and bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 20 to 25
minutes. Add apple slices; cover and simmer 15 additional minutes or until
apple is tender. Serve immediately.

NOTE: Rome apples, in season from November through May, are preferred for
this recipe because they hold their shape well when cooked.
