Ellis,  Here's my recipe.  Vicki

Monte Cristo Sandwiches

Serves 2

3 eggs
2 Tbs. milk, cream, or water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. sugar
4 slices French or sourdough bread
3 ounces thinly sliced turkey
3 ounces thinly sliced ham
2-3 ounces thinly sliced Swiss cheese
3 Tbs. butter or margarine
Powdered sugar
Boysenberry or raspberry jam

In small bowl beat eggs together with either milk, cream or water.
Stir in vanilla and sugar.  Melt butter or margarine in a frying pan.
Top two slices of bread with an equal amount of ham, Swiss cheese and
turkey.  Top with other slice of bread and dip each sandwich in the
egg mixture on both sides a few seconds on each side.  Fry in a frying
pan until cheese has melted and sandwiches are golden brown on both
sides, then remove from pan and drain on paper towels.  Sprinkle with
sifted powdered sugar and serve with either boysenberry or raspberry
jam, or serve with a fresh fruit salad on the side.
