Mandoo (Dumpling) Spicy Vegetable Mandoo Mandoo (Dumpling) mandoo skin (rice paper), you can get it from Asian grocery store onion celery cabbage ground beef egg Prepare similar amount of onion, celery, cabbage and beef. Cut vegetables into very fine cubes. Saute each vegetable separately with some seasoning. Cook beef until brown. Season it as necessary. Combine all ingredients in a warm pan. Add an egg. Stir until the egg is cooked. Put in a bowl and cool it. That is the stuffing for mandoo. Place a spoon of stuffing on the mandoo skin. Close it tight, seal with water. Fry (don't need to deep fry) until skin is browned. Have it with soy sauce. Before you fry, you can freeze them as well. Spicy Vegetable Mandoo >From August 2001 Maika'i Rewards 36 pieces round won ton wrapper 1 egg beaten with 2 tbsp. water Dash of cornstarch 1 tsp. vegetable oil Filling 1/2 cup carrots, grated 1/2 cup zucchini, grated 1/2 cup won bok cabbage kim chee, drained and finely chopped 1/4 cup firm tofu, broken up into small pieces with a fork 1/4 cup watercress leaves 1 tbsp. sesame oil 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped 2 tbsp. ginger, chopped 2 tbsp. garlic, chopped 3 tbsp. black bean paste 1 tsp. salt 1 cup cooked rice stick noodles, roughly chopped into 1" pieces Saute ginger and garlic in the sesame oil. Add carrots, zucchini, kim chee, tofu, watercress, cilantro and black bean paste. Stir briefly and remove from heat, add salt and noodles. Place filling in a baking pan and let cool. Lay out wrappers on a counter. Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each wrapper. Fold wrapper over filling to create a half-moon, then seal with a dash of egg wash. Place in a pan or plate sprinkled with cornstarch to prevent the mandoo from sticking together. Fry mandoo in oil until golden brown. Drain on paper towels and serve with sauce. Chili Dipping Sauce 6 tbsp. ko cho jang (Korean hot sauce) 3 tbsp. rice vinegar 2 tbsp. hot chili sesame oil 1/4 cup light shoyu 2 tbsp. cilantro, finely chopped 1 tsp. ginger, finely chopped 2 tsp. green onions, finely chopped Place all ingredients in a bowl and mix with a whisk.
