Conclave Recap

Sigma Phi Epsilon
49th Biennial Conclave
August 10th-14th, 2005
Nashville, Tennessee

August 10th-14th 2005 / Brothers Madden and Mitrano set off for SigEp's 49th biennial Conclave in Nashville.

The 4 days consisted of legislation, workshops, celebratory dinners, awards ceremonies, and fun nights in downtown Nashville.

Highlights include winning the Benjamin Hobson Frayser Award (granted to us by The Journal in recognition of an oustanding alumni newsletter), hearing a phenomenal speech from Erik Weihenmeyer, the first blind man to hike Mt. Everest, attending a luncheon for the country's strongest chapters, watching DJ $crilla perform the SigEp Anthem at the Grand Ole Opry, and enjoying the Alumni Awards Dinner on the last night.

Check out some pictures of the hotel and the final Alumni Awards Dinner:

At first glance of the hanging banners, we thought we were at the wrong conference. We soon
realized that the banners indeed represented our fraternity colors of purple, red, and gold.

The dining room setup was quite impressive.

The two tables at the front of the room represented the old and the new. On the left sat the
newly elected Board of Directors, and on the right sat the Board of the past two years.

His inaugural address was hilarious.

Order of the Golden Heart, SigEp's highest honor, that evening.
We then left the dining room to go enjoy our last night in Nashville.
