History:

The club was originally formed in 2004 as the "Target Shooting Club" by a group of students interested in recreational shooting. Over the years as the club grew, its members started reaching out to other colleges and universities around New England. In 2008 they hosted an informal match with teams from UCONN and Yale. After that experience the club wanted to pursue the competitive side of the shooting sports so in 2010 they petitioned the Student Government Association to change their classification. That year the Shooting Sports Club was formed as a "Club Sport".

Currently the club is made up of three parts, Recreational, Pistol and Shotgun teams. The Recreational group represents the "roots" of the club from where it started, weekend shooters that just want to go to the range.
