Each year the National Sea Grant College Program funds selected state Sea Grant projects that fall under one or more of its National Strategic Investments: marine biotechnology, oyster disease research, and aquatic invasive species research and outreach.  These projects, chosen through national competition, strengthen Sea Grant's capability to respond to high priority issues and opportunities in research and development, extension, education, and outreach network-wide.
