Do I need to know how to dance to come to any of the classes?
No! Everyone is welcome and no previous dancing experience is necessary.
Do I need to have a partner to be a part of SASS?
No partner is necessary! You will have the opportunity to dance with many different people.
What should I wear?
The only guideline for clothing is that you feel comfortable in what you are wearing! As long as you are able to move freely, you can wear anything you want. Real dance shoes are strongly recommended, but they are not required. A CLEAN pair of dress shoes or socks are required because street shoes are not allowed in the studio.
How do I join the salsa or ballroom team?
Contact the VPs of Ballroom and Salsa. Contact info can be found here.
How much does it cost?
The weekly social lessons (the ones on Tuesdays and Thursdays) are FREE. But if you really start to like dancing, we encourage you to join the Ballroom Competition Team or the Salsa Performance Team. These teams practice a whole lot more so you will have lots of extra dance time. Your first semester on the team is free, but you will have to pay dues (around $30) to cover competition/lesson costs subsequent semesters.
Where is the Patrick Gym Dance Studio?
It is located across from the tennis courts in the gym. (See a Map!)
