SPANISH LANGUAGE PLACEMENT TEST
GUIDELINES
The Language Placement test is for placement purposes only.
If you feel that you should enroll in a higher level or lower level
language course than indicated by the test,
please consult with a Romance Languages advisor to find the course most
appropriate for you.

* Enrollment in Spanish 101 (and/or 140 for those with
especially strong Spanish skills) is recommended, though other course
options are available with departmental permission.

The exam will take approximately 30 minutes.
Test scores are no longer sent to anyone via email (to avoid
risk of exposing private information). Students will be presented with
their results at the end of the test. If they need to see their results
again they should log in to the exam, fill in the top part of the
survey as they did when they took the exam, and then press the resume
button. (This process works if the exam is interrupted - as long as at
least one question has been answered).
If you do not believe the test score accurately reflects
your abilities, please contact the Department of Romance Languages, 517
Waterman Building, and we will arrange for you to speak with a Spanish
professor to best determine what level class you should be in.
