Irma has taught Spanish at UVM since 1999, and is a Senior Lecturer since 2007. She was born and raised in Oaxaca (México), got her B.A. at UVM in 1998, and a Master degree in Latin American Studies from the Universidad de Salamanca in Spain (2000). Irma attended and completed the doctorate courses at McGill University in Hispanic Studies (2002), and the doctorate courses in Hispanic Literature at the University of Salamanca (2008).
Irma teaches Grammar, Composition and Conversation, and has organized study trips to Mexico for medical students and students interested in community service in Oaxaca.
