Abigail has a B.A. from the University of Vermont and earned a M.A. in Spanish from New York University, completed in Madrid, Spain. Before arriving at UVM, she taught Spanish at Saint Michael’s College. She also worked in the Dominican Republic where she was the director of the Northfield Mount Hermon Semester Abroad Program in addition to teaching courses in Cross-Cultural Communication and Global Issues.

Abigail enjoys combining her interest in Spanish and Latin American cultures with her musical background. She is a versatile pianist who performs with the Burlington-based Latin Band Alejandro & Grupo Sabor and appears on their CD “El resbaloso” (2009) which features salsa, merengue, bachata, latin jazz, and traditional afro-dominican rhythms. In addition, she was the musical director and pianist for “Tying Up San Dima”, a play written and directed by Vermont playwright Maura Campbell, and “A Gift of Gracias”, a stage adaptation of the book by Julia Alvarez.
