Email Students

Emails sent to students will appear with your name as the sender. They copy you receive in your inbox will appear with registrar@uvm.edu as the sender. This is to prevent errors which might occur if your inbox is full.

Registration Overrides

Grant an Override

The default override action, override all but capacity/time, only provides relief from restrictions related to the students curriculum (e.g. major, minor, class.) To allow a student into a course which has reached its capacity limit you must select override all but time conflict.

Students who wish to enroll in a course which has level restrictions (e.g. day students into an evening section) must wait until the level restriction deadline. They cannot be given permission to override that restriction.

Permitting a Time Conflict/Viewing Assigned Overrides

If you wish to allow a student to enroll in your course despite it overlaping with another course you must grant the override time conflict permission. If the student has other restrictions which prevent them from registering for your course you will need to assign multiple overrides. To see which permissions you've assigned a student select list overrides for student.

How Students Must Register

Students to whom you have granted overrides must register using the CRN for your course instead of searching using the Look-up Classes link. If a student searches for your course it will still appear unavailable. Instead, students should select the Add or Drop Courses link.
