UVM Rescue is located in Burlington, Vermont,
which is a part of Chittenden County. UVM Rescue operates as an agency
in Vermont EMS District 3 at the EMT-Intermediate level, the highest
certification recognized in this district. To practice at this level,
our truck is staffed 24/7/365 by at least two Vermont certified EMT's.
All UVM Rescue Crew Chiefs are certified at the EMT-Intermediate level,
which allows them to administer medications, initiate IV therapy, and
place advanced airways. This level builds on the EMT-Basic
curriculum, which includes assisting with certain medications,
splinting, and taking vital signs.
UVM Rescue is a member of the National Collegiate EMS Foundation (NCEMSF).
It is also recognized by the University of Vermont's Student Government Association as a student run club.
