Staff,
faculty and students will find recycling bins conveniently
located
throughout all academic, administrative and laboratory buildings. All
members
of the UVM community are asked to properly sort materials for
recycling.
In and around classrooms, students can recycle papers, bottles and cans in bins that are located in hallways and in most classrooms and computer labs. In typical office settings, staff and faculty can obtain an “at-desk” recycling box to help keep papers and/or cans and bottles separate from other trash. Individual staff and faculty are responsible for bringing materials for recycling to the centrally located recycling bins in the hallways. (Custodial staff are not responsible for emptying the indivudual “at desk” boxes located under or next to an individual desk).
Cardboard carton boxes must be emptied out and flattened, and then placed next to the recycling bin in the hallway. This indicates to Custodial staff that the cardboard is intended to be recycled.
